Primary responsibilities of Six Sigma MBB includes:
 
  • This position will focus on bringing the right talent to the team and building organizational six sigma talent

  • Foster Teamwork and collaboration within the Operations and our internal Customers

  • Provide operational excellence and solutions across OptumHealth that include system applications and 5 unique processes 

  • Understanding quickly the complexities and interrelationships of these unique processes and systems

  • Drive a quality-focused culture and focus on the voice of the customer

  • Delivers and regularly communicates to Sr Leadership and delivering/selling impact

  • Serves as a senior level Six Sigma Consultant within the OptumHealth team that includes, mentoring and promoting process improvement philosophy within the operations centers and promotes process excellence

  • Develops scorecards, measurements and process improvement plans to align to business strategic goals 

  • Leads project teams to successful project completion and realization of the targeted benefits. 

  • Facilitates a variety of meetings and presents information to a wide range of levels within the organization

  • Maintains strong business relationships with leadership team and delivers presentations summarizing project findings to executive audiences.

  • Understands the business and business strategy with a focus on business processes and transactional operations.

  • Monitors and analyzes data and trends to identify potential opportunities, needs, issues, and problems that could impact business results. 

  • Understands customer needs/issues in defining quality and establishing quality priorities.

  • Understands how to break down work into process steps, develops schedules, and works well within time constraints. 

  • Serves as a catalyst for change; actively involved in process and organizational change and development. 

  • Applies analytical / quantitative approach to problem solving; knows how to obtain and use data, and comfortable with statistical concepts.

  • Breaks down organizational barriers to ensure that project team are effective in reaching project resolution. 

  • Works with Benefits Tracker to identify each project's financial impact and savings over a period of time. 

  • Coaches, trains and facilitates Green Belts in Six Sigma methodology

  •  Other duties as required.

  • 5+ years of project management experience to include root cause analysis and business process improvement experience

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification required; Master Black Belt certification preferred

  • BA/BS degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent required

  • 3+ years experience coaching, training and facilitating Green Belts in Six Sigma methodology

  • Demonstrated experience in leading operations process improvement projects and adding to business line success

  • Demonstrated ability to identify talent and foster and mentor growth of talent with a process improvement group

  • Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint

  • Demonstrated facilitation skills to a variety of levels and venues

  • Sound business and financial acumen

  • Understands the business and business strategy with a focus on business processes and transactional operations

  • Demonstrated abitlity to apply analytical / quantitative approach to problem solving; knows how to obtain and use data, and comfortable with statistical concepts

  • Maintains strong relationship with business leadership team

  • Leads cross functional project teams to successful project completion and realization of the targeted benefits.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate productive meetings.

  • Serves as a catalyst for Change Management

  • Works well under time constraints with resiliency to change priorities as business needs dictate

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Exposure or knowledge of Visio, Minitab and MS project preferred

  • Communicates effectively with influence and negotiation

  • Brings fresh ideas and thinking to problems and issues

  • Understands the financial components of the business

  • Emotional Maturity and learning agility

  • Requires Intellectual agility, deal w/ concepts and complexity comfortably

  • Create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans

  • Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems w/ effective solutions

  • Is adept at learning new concepts and applying principles & best practices into problem-solving approach

  • Able to adapt leadership style to drive optimal outcome
