SIX SIGMA BLACK BELT / MASTER BLACK BELT CERTIFICATION - ASQ OR OTHER NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED PROVIDER STRONG COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS, BOTH WRITTEN AND ORAL LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE AND ABILITY TO INFLUENCE AND GAIN COMMITMENT AT ALL ORGANIZATIONAL LEVELS STRONG FACILITATION SKILLS AND THE ABILITY TO BUILD POSITIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN A VARIETY OF GOVERNMENT AND CIVILIAN ORGANIZATIONS HAVE COMPLETED AT LEAST 10 LEAN SIX SIGMA PROJECTS SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCE FACILITATING MULTIPLE VALUE STREAM (KAIZEN) EVENTS UNDERSTANDING AND EXPERIENCE WITH DOD CULTURE DOCUMENTED TEACHING, MENTORING AND TRAINING EXPERIENCE WITH THE LEAN SIX SIGMA TOOLS. STRONG SKILLS MENTORING AND TRAINING OF NOVICE FACILITATORS. (DESIRED) PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION (PMI) A PLUS CHANGE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE A PLUS EXPERIENCE IN A MASTER BLACK BELT ROLE / CERTIFICATION ABILITY TO POSITIVELY TRANSFORM AN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE TO ADAPT TO IMPROVED PROCESSES AND PERFORMANCE METRICS. EXPERIENCE WITH ISO 9001 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE FORMER ARMY EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLEDGE OF/EXPERIENCE WORKING WITHIN A MILITARY CULTURE.
POSITION DESCRIPTION THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LEAN SIX SIGMA (LSS) BLACK BELT / MASTER BLACK BELT IS TO FACILITATE THE DOD CUSTOMER’S SUCCESSFUL LEAN SIX SIGMA DEPLOYMENT. THIS WILL ENTAIL ACTIVE COACHING OF SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S ABILITY TO EFFICIENTLY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS. THIS INCLUDES LAUNCHING NEW METHODOLOGIES AS APPLICABLE ACCORDING TO BUSINESS NEEDS. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE: MENTORING 10-15 PROJECTS PER YEAR USING DMAIC (DEFINE, MEASURE, ANALYZE, IMPROVE, CONTROL), DFSS (DESIGN FOR SIX SIGMA)/DMADV (DEFINE, MEASURE, ANALYZE, DESIGN, VERIFY), AND KAIZEN/LEAN PRINCIPLES; COACH AND MENTOR GREEN BELTS AND BLACK BELTS THROUGH TO SUCCESSFUL PROJECT COMPLETION; DEVELOP CURRICULUM AND DELIVER CLASSROOM TRAINING ON LEAN AND SIX SIGMA (DMAIC & DMADV) METHODOLOGY AND TOOLS IN CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT; DEVELOP CURRICULUM, TRAIN AND COACH LSS PROJECT CHAMPIONS; DEVELOP AND DEPLOY ORGANIZATIONAL METRICS AND DASHBOARDS; DRIVE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION AND PRIORITIZATION PROCESS.
PERFORM ANALYTICAL STUDIES AND EVALUATE CUSTOMER INPUT ON OVERALL PROCESS TO CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE THE FUNCTIONAL PROCESSES RELATED TO BUSINESS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT, INFORMATION SHARING ASSOCIATED WITH ASSIGNED PROGRAM AREAS, PROJECT EXECUTION, AND THE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE USE OF RESOURCES TO ACHIEVE ASSIGNED PROGRAM'S OBJECTIVES. EFFORTS OPTIMIZE INVESTMENT OF LIMITED ARMY FUNDING FOR THE BUSINESS PROCESS BEING STUDIED.
POSSESS A COMPREHENSIVE KNOWLEDGE AND THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING OF MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES. THE ABILITY TO PROPOSE, CONVINCE, AND IMPLEMENT IMPROVEMENTS OF COMPLEX MANAGEMENT PROCESSES AND SYSTEMS. ABILITY TO INTEGRATE EFFORTS OF MULTI-DISCIPLINED TEAMS; SUCH AS, FUNCTIONAL EXPERTS, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGERS, AND RESOURCE MANAGERS. WHEN REQUESTED BY THE LSS DEPLOYMENT DIRECTOR, INCUMBENT BRIEFS AND INTERACTS WITH ARMY, OSD, AND CONGRESSIONAL STAFFS ON THE RESULTS OF ASSIGNED LSS PROJECTS.
