Job Description:
Senior Project Manager – Black Belt
Summary
The main focus of this position is to lead process simplification projects for the life and annuity division using the lean six sigma methodology and tools. In addition, this person will be responsible for training and coaching less experienced black and green belts, as well as design and conduct training in the élan sigma methodology to various audiences throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities
• Execution of process simplification projects using lean 6 sigma process and tools
• Coach/train/mentor other project managers to become black belts
• Coach/train/mentor business analysts to become green belts
• Design and conduct training of the lean six sigma methodology for various audiences throughout the company
Job Requirements
• Extensive experience executing process simplification projects using a lean 6 sigma process in a financial services company (preferably life and annuity).
• 5-10 years financial services (preferably life and annuity) experience managing large, cross-functional, complex projects in a matrixed environment
• Expert in lean 6 sigma process and tools – 5 years of black belt experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to meet established deadlines; must be a self-starter and be able to work independently as well as being a team player
• Experienced project manager of large teams working in a complex business and systems environment, skilled at building effective teams and managing scope
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong organizational skills a must
• Must be action and results oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex subject matter
• Ability to design training programs and materials, as well as conduct the training
• Must be able to pass a background check
