Job Description:
Purpose
To provide leadership to Employee Teams, to use analytical skills to properly define and complete various mill projects, and to assist the Mill Leadership team in implementing strategic improvements within the business. This is considered a temporary assignment with duration of 2 to 3 years, after which the incumbent returns to their previous or similar position. The job levels reflect a continuum of required experience and skill set beyond the Black Belt training in line with the complexity of projects in which they manage. Incumbents are generally placed in the job that most closely associates with their current salary grade.
Responsibilities
- Lead and/or influence high impact improvement projects, including basic data gathering, scope-of-work development, preliminary design, cost estimation, contract negotiation, and scheduling.
- Deliver significant business impact on potential project opportunities.
- Mentor team members to increase their competency in quality methods and tools.
- Coach and train Green Belts.
- Facilitate organization and cross-organization knowledge sharing.
- Assist plant leadership team with identification, prioritization and validation of potential projects.
- Link customer requirements and business processes to the required effort.
- Evaluate solutions and develop implementation plans.
- Perform all duties according to company policies and safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and Windows software applications.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma, basic statistics and algebra. 2 year associates degree desired.
- Must be Black Belt certified within 12 months of assuming assignment.
- 3+ years functional staff or operations experience.
- Demonstrated business acumen desired.
- Experience within the LP structure and/or management experience desired
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Work Environment
- Both an office and manufacturing environment. Potential for off-site assignments.
- Moderate travel required (up to 20%).
- May be asked to work a flexible work schedule.
