Job Description:
MANAGER OF BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT, MINING Gold Mine - West Africa
Married or Single Residential 3-Year Contract
One of the most respected gold producers in Ghana is currently looking to fill the position of Manager of Business Improvement for their operations in West Africa.
This large, long-life mine requires an experienced business manager who can implement the principles of Lean Six Sigma within the mining environment. The company goal is to attain optimum production in a safe and cost effective manner. Duties:
Manages budget & resources of the Regional Business Improvement program Accountable to drive the principles and methodologies to attain regional & therefore global quality and consistency utilizing the principles of Lean Six Sigma Assist Line Managers with coordination of complex projects that deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefit Coordinate and communicate functional and business unit Value Stream Mapping exercises annually in preparation for the annual business planning cycle. In conjunction with Regional Management, develop strategy and sponsor the Business Excellence initiative at the regional level, ensuring alignment of improvement initiatives with business vision and strategy Partner with Line Managers to drive results and assist in project identification/selection, assuring link between projects and business priorities Facilitate the sharing of company best practices globally.
Requirements for the Position:
Self-directed, team player with a minimum 10 years of management experience in mining Proven leadership, project management, problem-solving, and team development skills. Experience & Expertise in structured Continuous / Business Improvement methodologies such as GMP and Lean Six Sigma. Knowledge of the Theory of Constraints preferred. Experience & Expertise with Value Stream Modeling. Strong understanding of Applied Statistics Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Demonstrated problem solving and strategic decision making skills.
