Senior Consulting Manager, Six Sigma

Our consultants work closely with the leadership teams of hospitals to improve financial and operational performance, improve clinical outcomes, develop service line strategies, improve management decision-making, enhance patient/customer experiences, and even adopt GE management practices. Within Performance Solutions, the Leadership & Organizational Excellence Practice leverages core GE management approaches to help healthcare organizations grow their margins and their leaders

Role Summary/Purpose As the Senior Consulting Manager, Six Sigma, you will have the opportunity to work within a healthcare system scoping and building value streams for strategic imperatives. Key focus areas include strategic and operational planning, talent management, leadership development, and the implementation of performance improvement methodologies including Lean Six Sigma, Change Acceleration Process (CAP), and Work-Out.

Essential Responsibilities * Project Delivery: Serve as engagement executive, responsible for overall engagement quality and relationship management at the most senior client levels.
* Manage a portfolio of engagements of approximately $3M. Meet targets for engagement resource utilization and timelines.
* Promote and complete timely performance feedback to team members and engagement leaders.
* Demonstrate ability to design and lead engagements to meet client needs and expectations.
* Ensure appropriate resources to deliver high quality engagements.
* Lead overall engagement work planning.
* Client Management: Effectively anticipate and manage engagement risks, scope of activities, and deliverables.
* Accountable for satisfaction of contractual commitments and dealing with scope/contract change decisions.
* Achieve high NPS (client satisfaction) scores.
* Establish and maintain relationships at the executive level.
* Ensure execution of appropriate communication plan, including all GE stakeholders.
* Sales:Pursue new business at new accounts and existing accounts.
* Lead opportunities including proposal development, analysis, and project planning. In conjunction with our sales team, contribute to total sales of $3M annually. Participate in external professional organizations representing GEHC Performance Solutions. Establish relationships with other GEHC channels to support client management and sales. Develop engagement pricing strategy.
* Practice Management:Serve as direct manager for 3 – 6 junior staff, including setting performance expectations, supporting career development and path, monitoring performance throughout the year, ensuring appropriate engagement assignments, and writing formal evaluations. Provide timely, actionable, constructive feedback to others. Lead Solution training and awareness building activities.
* Develop and share leading practices to enhance offerings and delivery capabilities and lead the development or enhancement of service offerings.
* Publish articles in professional journals and lead presentations at healthcare association meetings to market GEHC Performance Solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements * Minimum Bachelors Degree
* Minimum 10 years experience in Strategic Planning, Lean Six Sigma or OD leadership role within a health system.
* Minimum 2 years experience working as a third party consultant.
* Minimum 5 years experience with project management.
* Executive-level communication skills: written, interviewing, persuasion, selling, and presentation.
* Past roles must have included regular exposure to C-suite.
* Ability to lead within a matrix environment.
* Comfortable managing in dynamic and ambiguous environments, both internal to GE and at client sites.
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Ability to travel regularly 70 - 80% of work time
* Unrestricted US work authorization.

Desired Characteristics * MBA, MHA, or MPA not required but helpful
* Previous consulting experience with a major consulting firm
* Experience with GE management processes (Session C, Growth Playbook, Session II) and tools (CAP / Work-Out)
* Located in Rocky Mountains or West Coast
* Demonstrated management of complex projects, including outstanding analytical and communication skills.
* Previous professional services sales of >$1 M Knowledge of healthcare industry
* Stable work history with progressive responsibility
* Previous experience training clients on newly implemented value stream
