Job Description:
Our client is a Global business operating in over 18 countries selling millions of tons of products to it's customers every year.
For it to continue to operate successfully and grow, it's Operations must be safe, reliable and environmentally sound. It's Business Excellence program is designed to enable it to improve it's processes continuously by working through a cycle of activity – planning, performance, measurement and improvement.
In time, our client intends to become a sector leader in operational excellence.
The role of Global Business Excellence Manager is to lead and manage the implementation of the Business Excellence program in Local Operating Units (at european country level). The focus of the role will be project management of a complex change programme in each country, involving multiple business interfaces.
The change programme will impact on all areas of the business with specific focus on Order to Cash , prospecting, Pricing management and filling plants. Despite the approximate 30% travel load, the phased nature of the project roll-out means the requirement to be based in the field will vary, but is expected to not exceed 2-3 weeks at a time during the roll-out. This role will therefore require strong stakeholder management and influencing skills as well as flexibilty and the ability to structure and manage complex projects to some extent remotely.
The position has no direct reports, but will be accountable for scoping, prioritising, motivating and coordinating project teams in each Operating Unit, and reporting back to senior leadership.
This is an excellent and high profile opportunity to gain insight into a major business, to demonstrate project & change management skills and to gain experience delivering using a number of valuable business improvement tools. The Global Business Excellence Manager must own the responsibility for leading the way to breakthrough improvements:
- Leading change and championing the need and business case for change. - Leading and providing managerial and technical leadership to the project team members - Determining and planning what must be done at each step of the way, including developing a cross-functional deployment plan. - Lead and facilitate workshops and carrying out other forms of communication to support implementation Practical experience of Six Sigma and Lean tools and techniques is key as a large part of this role is to use these techniques and coach others to use these techniques.
