For more information about Fannie Mae and our career opportunities, visit www.fanniemae.com The individual in this position will work on Fannie Mae's implementation of certain programs under the U.S. Department of Treasury's ("Treasury") Making Home Affordable initiative. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status is required by Treasury for such individual, as is execution of a nondisclosure agreement and compliance with other Fannie Mae requirements per Treasury's guidelines. The Senior Project Manager will identify, measure, and monitor the company's operational risk in how its transactions and infrastructure function. Assess risks from unauthorized trading, software or hardware failures, lack of oversight of operations, or contingencies that would prompt disaster recovery programs. Assess threats to data integrity and security of networks and the consequences of failures or breaches. Recommend or implement risk mitigation strategies or practices. - Study and review business processes in assigned business unit; examine documentation and flow of work through systems.
- Confer with business unit staff on business problems or the execution of unusual transactions. Coordinate across business and corporate units, and with customers in ensuring that these less common transactions or exchanges are d appropriately.
- Where required by internal policies or external agencies, develop documentation of business processes and safeguards. May prepare reports for inclusion in larger mandated report(s).
- Plan and facilitate presentations and workshop sessions on process analysis, risk identification, assessment, control and mitigation. May use formal process improvement methodologies to assess and improve operating procedures in work unit(s).
- Confer with business unit management and staff by scoping business problems, analyzing processes, losses and risk exposure and sharing lessons learned. Identify key problem drivers, and reinforce operational procedures with appropriate internal controls.
- As needed, participate in or play technical lead in disaster recovery effort.
- Measure and analyze performance improvement results in a business or corporate unit. Support overall IT control practices, and remediation action plan execution, and integration and systems development life cycle testing and systems certification.
Education Bachelor Degree or Equivalent required (Focus in Business, IT/IS, Accounting preferred) Master or Other Advanced Degree preferred (Focus in Business, IT/IS, Accounting or Management preferred) Experience 8 years of related experience Specialized Knowledge & Skills - Prior experience identifying, measuring, assessing, developing corrective recommendations for, and monitoring business operational risk.
- Demonstrated ability to manage compliance related activities for the Housing Affordability Modification Program.
- Prior experience managing non-technical compliance-focused projects. Demonstrated ability to scope out a project, gather business requirements, develop work streams and projections, delegate activities and responsibilities, set and achieve deadlines, re-prioritize to accommodate shifting needs, and manage through completion.
- Excellent analytical skills inclusive of the ability to identify issues and trends; understand risk implications; develop corrective action plans; and, measure and monitor impact.
- Advanced report and presentation development skills. Ability to develop reporting and presentations for executive leadership and program regulators.
- Prior experience using Visio is strongly preferred. Experience with MS Project or other project management and workflow mapping tools is a plus.
- Prior experience in the lending, residential mortgage or financial services industry preferred but not required.
