Corporate Director of Lean Six Sigma
Position Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
The position of Director of Lean Six Sigma, reporting to the Director of Strategy (ultimate plan is to report directly to President of Americas,) is a critical role within the highly visible Business Development group of the company. This group works closely with the CEO, the business units, and the Office of the Chairman to develop and quantify long-term growth opportunities, lead merger & acquisitions, and spearhead corporate-wide initiatives to improve operating performance. The Lean Six Sigma position represents a vital role in the group's activities, leading all aspects of developing and executing performance improvement programs for the business units. This person will help assess opportunity, develop comprehensive plans to capture the opportunity, develop necessary talent required at the production and corporate levels, lead the program execution, and oversee continuous improvement initiatives.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
At the production facility level:
¢ Employ Lean Six Sigma methodology and analytics to assess opportunity and set performance improvement targets
¢ Develop tailored implementation plans to capture opportunity and put facilities on path of continuous improvement
¢ Develop and execute a training program to develop Lean Six Sigma Black Belts
¢ Coach production facility personnel in the capture of opportunities
¢ Develop and manage mechanism to report operational performance back to facilities on a regular basis
¢ Manage network of Lean Six Sigma Blackbelts
At the corporate level:
¢ Help design a plan to implement Lean Six Sigma Methodology and ultimately improve operating performance
¢ Presentation to Corporate senior management
¢ Tracking and monitoring of performance and key implementation milestones
¢ Engage in the due-diligence process of mergers and acquisitions to assess the target company's current and potential performance
JOB REQUIREMENTS
> Relevant work experience as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
¢ Black Belt certification, Master Blackbelt certification, Lean Certification
¢ Excellent quantitative/qualitative skills plus the ability to present and communicate ideas
in both written and oral forms
¢ Ability to keep the big picture in mind and have impact rather than seeking and applying the perfect answer
¢ Sensitivity to cultural norms and ability to adapt approach to culture
¢ Demonstrated ability to develop respect from all levels of the organization
¢ High level of energy and enthusiasm
¢ Flexible work and leadership style to maximize team performance
¢ Track record of outstanding performance relative to peers and demonstrated leadership
skills
EDUCATION
¢ BA/BS from a top-tier undergraduate institution in a technical field
¢ Advanced technical degree preferred
